HEALTHY SNACKS TO PACK FOR SUMMER VACATION

Every time we take a road trip I think about the movie National Lampoon’s Summer Vacation. I guess you would have to be in the car with all of us to really get the picture. Hilarious!

Yes, this post is actually me packing for our spring break trip to Hilton Head, SC but why not share some of the yummy/healthy snacks that I packed for all of us while on the way there.

Yes, I have a confession to make……… Usually, I pack junk for vacations! I just turn the other cheek and go with it & let them eat what they want. Secretly that’s my free pass to eat all of the junk I want as well.

Not this year, I am going to do things a little bit differently. Mrs. Simplicity hasn’t been going to the gym 3 days a week to lie on the beach and let soda & chips go back to these thighs.

No, I will not be discussing this with any of the other 3 simplicities. Nor, am I saying that we will not have a dessert or two. As far as the road trip and hotel room I will have multiple healthy options available.

Usually, by day 2 or 3 everyone has a belly ache and may not be feeling well due to us being off schedule anyway. My goal is to combat tummy aches and dehydration headaches.

  • Probiotics (not a snack I know)
  • Multivitamin (also not a snack)
  • Organic (Non-GMO) Popcorn
  • Organic Dried Fruit
  • Fig & Oat Bar Snacks
  • Organic Seaweed Chips
  • Organic String Cheese
  • Organic Low Sugar Juice Boxes
  • Coconut Water
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Organic Peanut Butter
  • Organic Baby Carrots
  • 3-ingredient-raw-cacao-bites
  • Sprouted Pretzels
  • Kombucha
  • Water, Water, & more Water

Since I don’t have a built-in Reverse Osmosis System in my car, bottled water will have to do just for this week. Well, I ended up bringing a few gallons anyway.

Listed above is just an example of things that I brought. I know everyone has dietary restrictions, different eating habits, or may not consider some of those items as healthy.

So feel free to swap out items according to your family.
What snacks do you pack for vacation? Let me know below….
